About Us
Dr. Steven L. Atlas received his B.S. from Temple University School Of Allied Health Sciences. He graduated with a D.M.D. degree from Temple University School of Dentistry in 1990 where he received numerous honors and awards. He continued on for his post-doctorate certificate in Periodontics also at Temple University. He was an associate clinical professor in the Department of Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and an attending doctor at the Dental Care Center at the Medical College of Pennsylvania were he served as faculty in the Department of Surgery.
He was the first periodontist in Chester County to become board certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Dr. Atlas was recently inducted as a Fellow in the American College of Dentists. Selection to this prestigious Fellowship reflects exceptional leadership, achievements, and involvement in the dental profession and in the community. Presently, Dr. Atlas is an officer and serves on the board of the Delaware Valley Academy of Osseointegration. Furthermore, he is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, Pennsylvania Society of Periodontists, American Dental Association, Pennsylvania Dental Association, Academy of Osseointegration, Delaware Valley Academy of Osseointegration, and the Dental Society of Chester and Delaware County.
In addition to the treatment of periodontal disease, Dr. Atlas specializes in dental implants and is certified in numerous systems. He has been placing implants successfully for over 15 years. He regularly attends continuing education courses as well as advanced hands on surgical training courses. His comprehensive knowledge and training allows Dr. Atlas the expertise to provide all current nonsurgical and surgical therapies.
